The Complexities of BYOD

Staying Connected Webinar Series –
Justin Castillo.

Bring Your Own Device, a.k.a. BYOD, means different things to different people. For some, it is a way to give greater flexibility and choice to users, leading to greater end-user satisfaction and productivity. For others, it is a path to lower costs and frees the enterprise from the responsibility of providing wireless services to its end-users. Still others see it as the inevitable result of the consumerization of IT.

Whether BYOD saves money continues to be controversial due to the difficulty of calculating the true total cost of ownership presented by various wireless paradigms. But BYOD isn’t just about cost: there are many crucial security, infrastructure, support, and policy implications to consider.

In this webinar, Ben Fox of TechCaliber Consulting and Justin Castillo of Levine, Blaszak, Block and Boothby examined the pros and cons of the different approaches to BYOD, and covered the issues that enterprises must address to implement a successful BYOD program.
